Brad’s Blog – On the Eve of the Villa Season, a Look Back at Preparations 0
It’s hard to believe that the World Cup has come and gone and another preseason is in the books. The English Premier League is about to start this weekend and the buzz around the country is crazy! Preseason is always filled with a lot of games and a hectic travel schedule.
I was able to meet up with Villa during the second leg of the US tour in Houston, and it was great to see the guys. The training was intense and you could see the team coming together with each session.
We then traveled back to the UK for a few days, played a game and then we were back on the plane headed to Holland for another match. Being able to see the Villa fans around the world is a great experience for all of us and more importantly it allows us to test ourselves against other top European teams. We finished our preseason with a tough game against Parma from Serie A in Italy and the excitement around Villa Park could be felt by everyone.
Training has been very good all week and the tactics behind how we want to play have been discussed. All the guys know that it’s all business from here on out, and that it’s going to be a tough start with Stoke City away.
We know it’s a long season, but at the same time we want to get off to a winning start and give us that little bit of confidence that winning brings to a team. We are excited about the year and definitely feel we are a stronger team than last year. We know that on any given day we can compete and beat the best teams in the league and that is what we will be trying to do week in and week out!
Up the Villa!!!
