I am currently sitting on our flight from Sao Paulo to Natal to start to prepare for our game against Ghana and the start of the World Cup!
The buzz got a little bit more real yesterday as we all watched the Brazil vs Croatia, most of us watched it together in the players lounge at the hotel. The noise level outside the hotel got a lot louder, and there were a lot more people smiling and enjoying themselves after the final whistle blew as Brazil kicked off the start of the tournament with a win.
Now that the games are coming thick and fast, all the players are gearing up for the tough challenge ahead. To open the tournament up against Ghana, the team that has knocked us out of the last two World Cups, is going to be special for numerous reasons. The most important reason is that we want to make sure the third time is a charm and get three points. The weather in Natal is meant to be very rainy for the next few days, so maybe it will minimize the extreme heat conditions that were otherwise expected. With all the training we have been doing leading up to the game, we are ready for anything and most importantly ready to start the World Cup!
